Tanned and Healthy Skin

You have used the new tanning bed and now, your body and your face bear a warm gorgeous tan. But having a tanned skin does not mean that you also have a healthy skin. Your skin, especially the skin on your face, needs more than the UV rays emitted by tanning bulbs.

Your face, for it to be healthy, needs you to eat a nutritious and well-balanced diet. You must indulge in fruits and vegetables. And you should take plenty of water. Water hydrates your skin and prevents it from drying. Dry skin is more prone to aging than oily skin.

Oily skin, on the other hand, is more prone to pimples, acnes, and blemishes. To prevent these from occurring, a person must have a regimen to maintain the health and suppleness of the facial skin. The usual regimen is usually made up of four steps: first is to cleanse the skin; second is to exfoliate, third is to tone; and fourth is to moisturize.

Cleaning the skin is important especially at night. The skin uses the night to rejuvenate itself. To help your skin, you must get rid of all the dust and dirt that have accumulated in the pores of your skin. The soap is the usual choice as cleanser. But soaps may not be the right cleanser for your face. Thus, you must choose a cleanser wisely. Avoid cleansers take away important oils from your skin. They cause more harm than good. Avoid cleansers that leave your skin dry, especially during winter when the skin naturally becomes dry as an effect of the colder temperatures. And avoid cleansers that leave an oily residue on your face.

To exfoliate the skin is to peel away old skin and reveal a newer and more elastic skin. This skin makes a person looks younger. You may exfoliate using a facial mask once or twice a week. To tone the skin is to apply a non-stringent, acid-based toner that will remove any stubborn dirt that remained after cleansing.

And lastly, to moisturize is to make sure that your skin has enough moisture to last throughout the day. Some moisturizers available on the market also offer sun protection. You may use this type of moisturizer the next time you use the tanning bed. Without moisturizers, the UV rays in tanning beds may cause wrinkles to form on your face.

If you are concerned about some fine lines around your eyes, you might consider using eye creams. These are formulations suited to the sensitive and delicate areas of your face.
